Carbonear Collegiate High School is located in Carbonear (population 5000), one of the oldest settlements in Newfoundland, Canada. The school is operated by the Eastern School District of Newfoundland and Labrador and has a student population of 534 in Levels I - III. Our students come from 10 different communities. Staff members currently number 33.The school was opened in September of 1985.
The school motto is 'Animus Vivit' which means: The spirit lives. The school colours are burgundy and grey; school teams wear the Sentinels logo .
Carbonear Collegiate offers a diverse program in academics, arts, and sports. Our public exam results in the various Math, Science, English, French and Social Studies disciplines are among the best in the province. Advanced Placement courses in Literature, Physics, Biology, Math and Chemistry are available to qualifying students. We also offer excellent programs in Fine Arts, Music and Sports.
